FAQ
Everything you need to know before you transfer.
How does the transfer work?
We connect to your source platform using OAuth, read your playlist, then search for each song on the destination platform by title and artist. Matches get added to a new playlist on your account. You stay in control the whole time — we never store your passwords.
Will all my songs transfer?
Most songs transfer successfully — typically 90%+ for popular playlists. Some tracks may not match if they're not available on the destination platform, or if the metadata differs significantly (regional releases, live versions, etc.). You can see the match count before you pay.
How much does it cost?
Playlists up to 50 songs are completely free — no credit card needed. For larger playlists, it's a one-time $3.99 per transfer, up to 2,500 songs. No subscription, no recurring charges.
How long does a transfer take?
Most transfers complete in under a minute. Larger playlists (500+ songs) can take a few minutes. You'll see a live progress bar and can leave the page — we'll finish the transfer in the background.
What happens to songs that don't match?
Unmatched tracks are skipped and shown in your transfer results so you know exactly what didn't make it. You can then search for those songs manually on the destination platform.
Will my playlist name and song order be preserved?
Yes — the new playlist uses the same name as your original, and songs are added in the same order.
Can I transfer the same playlist more than once?
Yes — each transfer creates a new playlist on the destination. If you want to re-sync an updated playlist, just run the transfer again and you'll get a fresh copy.
Do I need a paid subscription on each platform?
For Spotify, a free account works fine. For Apple Music and YouTube Music, you need an active subscription to create playlists on those platforms.
Why do I have to sign in with Google for YouTube Music?
YouTube Music runs on your Google account. We use Google's official OAuth to connect — the same flow you'd use for any Google app. We only request access to your YouTube library, nothing else.
Is my password safe?
We never see your password. All platform connections use OAuth — you authenticate directly with Spotify, Apple, or Google, and they give us a limited-access token. We can't log in to your accounts, change your passwords, or access anything beyond your playlists.
Something went wrong with my transfer. Can I get a refund?
If a paid transfer fails to complete due to an error on our end, we'll issue a full refund. Email us at hello@switchtunes.com and we'll sort it out.
